Fenwicks started in 1986 with a single van, and in the last 30 years, we've become an established and recognised chilled haulage and distribution business within the industry. We're proud to support the Road Haulage Association's (RHA) National Lorry Week, which runs from Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd September 2019.
National Lorry Week was established to celebrate the industry: providing an opportunity to highlight the positive contribution of the sector, to the UK economy, and recognise the people whose hard work we often take for granted. Haulage is an essential sector in the UK (and the rest of the world) and the Road Haulage Association wants to ensure the general public is aware of this! The RHA is promoting the use of the hashtag: #LoveTheLorry to spread the love on social media.
Distribution, forms an integral service to almost all business' which allows the country's supply chain to keep moving. Lorries move 98% of all UK goods, from toilet paper to medicine, food to clothing.
The RHA is calling on members to help promote the haulage industry as a career path for those either starting out or looking for a career change. For many, the word haulage translates simply to lorry drivers. However, there are many different jobs and career paths that might not be immediately obvious to the public. From customer service assistants to warehouse operatives, health and safety officers to IT operators and obviously significant management opportunities, – the shipment industry is so much more than just driving.
